WELCOME TO INSTINCTIVE FILM

Berlin based Instinctive Film is an independent film finance, development and production company established in January 2007 by producing partners Darryn Welch and Chris Ouwinga.

The core focus of the company is to nurture new talent, develop great stories and tell those stories with a unique vision intended for an international audience.

Recently completed is the intense psychological thriller "The Divide" - directed by Xavier Gens ("Frontiere(s)", "HITMAN") which received its World Premiere at SXSW last March resulting in the biggest sale in SXSW festival history.
Also recently completed is debut filmmaker Carl Tibbetts' thriller "Retreat" starring Jamie Bell, Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton. Both Films will be released theatrically in the US. 

Currently in post production is "The Divide" scribe - Eron Sheean's Genetics Institute-set sci-fi thriller "Errors of the Human Body" starring Michael Eklund and Karoline Herfurth; and from the team that produced the award winning documentary "The End", their latest offering "Do As You Likey" a riveting and touching yet hilarious look at English Gypsy lifestyle.

In preproduction is Instinctive's homegrown 'Genre' anthology "Paris, I'll Kill You!" the first installment of a new and exciting franchise showcasing some of today's best suspense/horror/thriller directors.

Recently completed films include Steven Silver's true story about a group of war photographers in South Africa during the Apartheid - "The Bang Bang Club" starring Ryan Phillippe, Malin Akerman and Taylor Kitch which premiered at TIFF 2010; and Will Canon's Fraternity prank gone-wrong thriller "Brotherhood" which won the Audience Award at SXSW and will be released theatrically by Phase 4 in North America next year.

Other recent productions include "Broken Kingdom" written and directed by Daniel Gillies, Peter Dowling's New York Underground Chriller - "Stag Night", Multi Award winning Abebe Bikila biopic - "Atletu - The Athlete", German language coming of age comedy "13 Semester" distributed by FOX and Slamdance winner "Drool" written and directed by Nancy Kissam.
